Eligibility: To be eligible for funding, a licensed or certified health care provider, facility, or entity must meet the criteria specified in section 381.915(9)(b), Florida Statutes.
Available Funding: A total of approximately $60 million is available for all funds, subject to Florida Legislature appropriation.
Application Deadline: Applications are accepted from 09/29/2025 through 01/09/2026 via this application portal on a rolling basis.
Work Plan: Submission requires a Work Plan with performance updates, successes, and unexpected barriers.
Compliance: Projects must occur in Florida, with quarterly and final reports required. Eligible facilities must respond to Department requests for information for a period of five years after the end of the award period.
Only One PI: There must be only one Corresponding Principal Investigator (PI) assigned to the project. The PI is the individual designated by the applicant organization as legally responsible to direct the grant project. There may be multiple Co-PIs on a project, but there must be only one PI.
PI Legal Status: The PI must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; unauthorized aliens shall not be employed pursuant to §274A(e) of the Immigration and Naturalization Act (8 U.S.C. 1324a), section 101 of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, and Florida Executive Order 11-02. Non-U.S. citizens can serve as Collaborators or members of a research team.
